Tuan & Kristin got married on January 21, 2017 at The Allan House in Austin, TX. I had been looking forward to this wedding for quite some time. This couple did not come across my work on a wedding blog or through a general search for wedding photography. I actually found Tuan through the M5 Republic page on Facebook. I reached out to him because he had the same car as me, and he lives in Austin, TX. From there, we traded wedding photography for a few M5 upgrades and became friends through the process:) I had a chance to get to know Tuan and Kristin a bit during their awesome engagement session which can be seen here. They are a super likable couple, and I had a great time working with them. On their wedding day, I arrived about an hour before ceremony time for a few pre wedding photos. The full mass ceremony took place at St. John Newmann Catholic Church in Westlake. It is a very grand cathedral with a stunning dome that is much larger in person than it looks in the photos. The first shot in the series is an ultra-wide portrait of Tuan & Kristin in the church. I used my 16mm fisheye in order to capture the entire space. I backlit them with a strobe, and the result came out great. After the post wedding photos were wrapped up, we made our way to The Allan House located in downtown Austin. I love the floral arrangements that filled the reception space. The light colored flowers & reception design gave the venue a unique style that isn’t seen very often. Once the reception kicked off, it was party time. These guys had a blast dancing the night away, and the evening went by in the blink of an eye! The end of the party was especially memorable for me, because this was the first time that I doubled as a wedding photographer, and getaway driver. I used my new role as a reason to chop the mufflers off my car & wake up the city. I am super excited to share this post with you, and I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them. Many congrats to Tuan & Kristen!
