Megan & Jose got married on November 12, 2016 in Austin, TX. This was a wedding day to remember. We started the day with some getting ready photos of the ladies. After we spent some time in the hotel, everyone made their way to St. Mary’s Cathedral for the first look and wedding ceremony. I have photographed this church on several occasions. It is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Austin. We set up Megan & Jose’s first look right out front. The shots turned out wonderful. We were cutting it a little close to the ceremony, so we held off on their portraits until afterwards. The ceremony was gorgeous, and the post wedding portraits turned out just how I wanted them. I was going for studio style lighting, really showing off the mood and ambiance of the church. After we wrapped up Megan & Jose’s portraits, we made our way to Brazos Hall for the remainder of the evening. The reception was decorated beautifully. The ladies at Pearl Events did a tremendous job conceptualizing and executing the design of this spectacular space. Upon arriving at Brazos Hall, I took the wedding party around for a few fun group shots before the reception kicked off. I especially like the photos taken inside. We incorporated the furniture and posed everyone to give the shots a real GQ look and feel. I created color and b&w versions of the images, but thought that the only way to feature would be without any color. They turned out awesome. After the indoor shots, we walked the block and shot a few photos in front of this awesome textured wall. The contrast of the beautiful wedding party agains the decayed wall made for an extra special collection of images. After all that, it was party time. These guys stayed on the dance floor all night.
