Ashleigh’s bridals were shot at Camp Lucy on June 10, 2014. Not only is Ashleigh gorgeous, but her dress (designed by Stephen Yearick) is one of the most unique that I have ever seen. I typically do not blog too many bridal portraits, but this one stood out to me, and Ashleigh gave me permission to share them before her wedding date. We shot all over the grounds of Camp Lucy, and we got some really nice shots. Ashleigh brought along a vintage red couch for the session, and it added a great element that makes this collection very memorable. For the shoot, I applied a combination of natural lighting as well as some off camera flash-work and multi-image composites. I wanted to get some really dramatic shots that would showcase Ashleigh and her awesome dress, in style. My favorite image from this collection is definitely the first shot in the series. It was taken from outside the chapel, and really sets the tone for the rest of the session. Camp Lucy is one of those amazing venues that offers more than the average location. The grounds are so well manicured, and the architecture is so unique, that it is no surprise that this spot is one of the most sought after venues in Texas. I am super excited about shooting Ashleigh and Austin’s wedding next month, and am already thinking about how I want to shoot it. Every time I visit Camp Lucy I capture unique images that are unlike any of the weddings or portraits I have shot before. It is always a great feeling when I refresh my style and put together a collection of images that rejuvenates my passion for photography. Something about this session did it for me.
