I felt honored to be at this wedding for a few reasons. I have known Andrew for a number of years. He is a talented local photographer, and knows a lot of the same people as me. I was lucky enough to be a part of his and Katie’s super intimate wedding this last Saturday. Close friends and family is what this day was all about. Andrew & Katie got married at a family friends home in Canyon Lake, TX. I was only there for the ceremony and dinner, but I must say, I love the way this collection turned out. I arrived at 7:30ish, and the ceremony began at about 8:00. Katy walked down the aisle, and Andrew was all smiles. Some of the facial expressions that were captured are literally priceless. After the ceremony, we went strait into their portraits, next to the water. Andrew’s best friend Chad Adams was kind enough to help me out with the composite work. He is a talented and successful photographer located right here in Austin, TX. You can access his website here. We were pressed for time since the sun was dropping so quickly, so I broke out the wireless flashes and executed some pretty dramatic images. The first photo in the series is probably my favorite portrait taken that day. The trees extending from the banks of the lake make the shot a little on the edgy side, and provided a pretty crazy looking background. Although it looks very little dark, (and a tad creepy) Andrew & Katie bring the image 180. The shot tuned out marvelous, and I could not have done this on my own. After I finished up with the portraits and family photos, they invited me to sit down for a beer and some home cooking. The food was incredible, and I left more than satisfied.
