This session was fun! It was really fun! I met Rosemary and her ladies at the Capitol for the first part of the portrait session. She looked gorgeous, and I must say that she is unbelievably confident in front of the camera. I knew that she was going to be a breeze to shoot. I actually photographed her and Wes’s engagement photos a while back, and I knew right away that she was going to be fun to work with. We took a few shots with her super cute dog, and then headed into the city. The second location we chose was the iconic “blue wall” located at the corner of 5th and 35. This spot is very well knows around the photographer community here in Austin. I am not sure who the first person was to feature this spot, but it has literally gone viral among the wedding and portrait photographers in ATX. It is a super vibrant tiled wall located on the Northeast corner of the convention center downtown. It is a great spot for bridals, because the color just pops off the screen (or print). After we finished up at the wall, we went over to 6th street for some edgier style images. It was a little bit of a challenge because there were so many early party goers out (it was a Friday night), but we made out with some pretty killer shots of Rosemary walking her dog across Austins most famous street. I must say that my favorite images from the session are definitely the ones where she is wearing her mink shaw, and she is being backbit by the sun. The quality of light in those images literally make me grin from ear to ear. The shots turned out gorgeous, and I am beyond satisfied the the final collection. I am definitely looking forward to shooting Wes & Rosemary’s wedding at Memory Lane coming up next month, so keep an eye out for her wedding photos. Anyways, here is a small collection from the day.
