Katy makes such a gorgeous bride! I always love shooting bridals out at Laguna Gloria. Shooting portrait sessions are always nice, because unlike a wedding, the environment is completely controlled. I love the energy and emotion of a wedding day, but the portrait photographer in me always loves these kind of shoots. For the longest time, I wanted to break into the fashion photography industry. This is the closest that I can get, being that I am a full time wedding photographer. Katy and I met in the front solarium room at Laguna Gloria last week for her session. That room is the selling point behind the venue. The natural light floods in the large windows, and just shows off the magnificence of the Mediterranean style setting. It is absolutely perfect for bridal photos. Shooting in an environment like this one calls for an all natural approach. I shot the entire session with natural lighting, and the photos turned out wonderful. There are a couple of shots taken from the bigger room on the second floor, and a handful taken outside. Usually when shooting in the middle of the day, we are a little limited as far as the outdoors goes. On this day, we were lucky enough to have about a 15 minute window of cloud cover. This allowed us to hit a few spots that would typically be off limits during that time of the day. For my current brides with bridals on the horizon, make sure and check out this spot. It is the best around (in my opinion) :). I am looking forward to shooting Katy & Ray’s wedding coming up this September! Keep an eye out on my blog for their wedding day photos! I hope that you enjoy these photos as much as I did shooting them.
