Alexandra and Duncan got married on October 21, 2017 at Emmaus Catholic Church and the reception followed at Lakeway Resort & Spa. This was a wedding day to remember. I arrived at the resort for some getting ready photos prior to the ceremony at Emmaus. I took a few shots of the ladies in the bridal suite as well as some pre wedding group shots of the guys, next to the pool. After we wrapped up the pre wedding stuff, it was ceremony time. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see Emmaus Catholic church in person, you must. It is stunning. The wooden arches in the cathedral make for some really spectacular photos. The backlighting can pose some challenges, but I have shot out there enough times to know how to manipulate the space to work well for me. After the wedding was wrapped up, we took all family photos and then headed to Lakeway for the reception. The reception space was designed with expert precision by Pearl Events. The twinkle lights that hung over the reception area provided wonderful ambient light during the party, and really brought the space to life. Jen did a wonderful job keeping everything on schedule, and made this wedding go as smooth as possible. A little into the reception we stepped out onto the patio overlooking the lake for some sunset shots of Alexandra & Duncan. I took a combination of flash composites as well as a few naturally lit images to give the collection some variety. Personally, I am a fan of the flash-work. I think that the lighting really makes the images pop, and gives them that edge that you don’t see very often. After the photos were wrapped up, it was party time. Eric with Greenbelt DJ did a great time keeping the dance floor alive, and everyone was having an awesome time. I really enjoyed being a part of this wedding day, and I am thrilled to share the photos with you. Many congrats to Alexandra & Duncan!
