Samantha & Tyler are a very cool couple from Houston, TX. We actually grew up in the same area, and nearly the same neighborhood. Although I did not know her from back home, it is still that classic “Its a small world feeling” that happens ever so often :). They came in town this last week for their engagement photos at Vista West Ranch. As many of you know, I love shooting out at this awesome hill country venue. The rustic charm that this location offers is just perfect for a natural portrait session of any kind. For the most part, I shot these images using natural lighting (excluding the last 2 images in the series). What I really loved about this engagement session is that Samantha came to the table with a wealth of ideas, that gave me a solid direction to go in. Many of these awesome poses, ideas, and concepts came strait from her. I loved the idea of the first image feared in the post. The concept is so wonderful, and it turned out just the way that she had envisioned to it. Her dog, Bailey was also such a breeze to shoot! He was so well behaved, and did an awesome job cheezing it up for the camera. Samantha & Tyler are getting married at The Lodge at Bridal Veil Falls on February 7, 2015. I have not shot a wedding out at this location yet (as it is a pretty new venue), but I have a few on the books for this next year. Based on the photos that I have seen so far, this place looks absolutely stunning! I can’t wait to shoot out there next year. Anyways, here are some of my few favorite photos from the afternoon.
