Brittany and Chad got married at Vista West Ranch on September 2, 2016. I had been looking forward to shooting their wedding for quite some time. This was my first wedding of my very busy fall wedding season. I started the day a couple hours before ceremony to get some getting ready shots of the ladies, as well as a few details in the reception area. Petal Pushers did an amazing job as always with this one. I am very happy with the way this collection turned out. The energy and spirit of the wedding party made this a really fun group to photograph. They were all having such an awesome time, it made my job exceptionally easy. It was a bright day, but a very thin overcast softened up the light just enough to make everything look awesome through my lens. I approached this wedding as I would any, but I must say, the quality of light in these images is very pleasing to me. After the wedding, I shot all bridal party and family photos. For those of you who have not met me, I have very long hair. Before I got it trimmed this week, it was chest length. I keep it up at weddings, so malfunctions like this do not happen. While I was shooting the ladies group shots, I was backing up, and my “man bun” got caught in a low hanging tree branch. You did read that correctly. Luckily, the videographer came to my rescue, and cut me free. All of the girls thought it was so hilarious, it was hard for me to be embarrassed about it. Who gets stuck in a tree? The guy with the massive man bun gets stuck in a tree.
Ok back to the photos. After the group shots, we made our way around the grounds of Vista West for Brittany & Chad’s wedding portraits. They turned out awesome. I did mainly natural lighting, but I did include a few signature flash composites as well. Make sure and check out the last photo in the portrait section of this post. The lighting and colors are intoxicating.
I had a great time with this one, and am thrilled to share it with you all. Many congrats to Brittany & Chad!
