The Terrace Club Wedding Photography : Courtenay & Renzo

Courtenay & Renzo got married at The Terrace Club in Dripping Springs, TX on October 25, 2014. This wedding was full of great moments! It was a photographers dream to shoot. There was so much happiness and love that afternoon, that not only was it a breeze to shoot, but I haven’t seen that many hugs given out in a 6 hour period, my whole life. Being a “moment junkie”, it was a great wedding for me to shoot. This was a one of a kind event across the board. I have shot out at The Terrace Club several times over the last few years, but this one was the fist time that I have had the chance to shoot an outdoor reception there! The Terrace Club set up an amazing tent to the left of the ceremony site, and it looked incredible! The drapery, lighting, and decor made this wedding reception one to remember. I made sure to get plenty of wide shots of the reception, for them. I believe that this is the first time that The Terrace Club has ever had a wedding like this. I was very happy with the ceremony photos, but the portraits were definitely my favorite shots from the day. When I shoot out at the Terrace Club, I typically photograph the bride and groom portraits right where they had the tent set up. The setup changed things a bit, and we ended up walking a ways behind the reception set up for the pictures. To say that this spot was pretty would be an understatement. The lighting, the view, the couple…everything was aligned, and the photos look epic! I am very happy to share these photos with you, so please feel free to share them with your friends and family.

The Hills Country Club Wedding Photography: Stephanie & Kevin

Stephanie & Kevin got married at The Hills Country Club on October 4, 2014. Golf Course weddings are always so much fun! I loved the setting for ceremony and, there was no shortage of awesome locations for the post wedding portraits. Prior to the wedding, I had not visited this country club. The Hills is located in Lakeway, TX, and is definitely one of the nicest courses that I have had the pleasure of shooting at. Aside for the big trees, and well manicured grounds, there is a spectacular waterfall that made for some really nice photos. I had the pleasure of taking Stephanie & Kevin’s engagements prior to the wedding day. You can see them here. They are super nice and are very easy to work with. I really love shooting my clients prior to the wedding day. It not only gives me a chance to get to know them, but I have an idea of how they photograph. These two are very good in front of the camera. When it came time for their wedding day portraits, they were all over it. We took our time, and took full advantage of the awesome lighting that evening. The majority of the photos shot were done with natural light, but there was one image that is a dual image flash composite (the shot right before the bridge photo). The event coordinator, Micki helped me out with this one. The image looks quite a bit different that the rest in the series, and I love how it turned out! Austin Engagement Photography : Derrick & Kelli

Derrick and Kelli are a very nice couple! I had been looking forward to shooting their engagements for some time, and I must say that they turned out awesome! 🙂 Derrick currently lives in Boston and Kelli is here, in Austin. They will be getting married on May 23, 2015 at one of the most amazing venues around, Thurman’s Mansion. That place is not only beautiful, but it is right next to The Saltlick BBQ in Driftwood, TX. I know going into every wedding at Thurman’s Mansion, that I am going to eat very well that night!

We met up at one of my favorite spots on the Capitol Grounds for the first part of the session. The west perimeter gates is the perfect location to start shooting. Not only is it a gorgeous park, but this time of year it is especially nice. The leaves are beginning to turn, and the color is just incredible! After we shot on the Capitol Grounds, we made our way to one of my favorite locations for a shot of the actual Capitol Building. It is a nearby parking garage that has a fantastic perspective of the iconic building. I love shooting there because you rarely see this angle, and it photographs nicely. Our next location was the “blue wall” at 5th and Red River, followed by the Lamar pedestrian bridge. We really lucked out with the sunset that afternoon, and I took full advantage. I am thoroughly satisfied with he way that they turned out. As soon as the sun began to set, I knew exactly what to do. I shot all of those images with 3 maxed out flashes, and my 35mm lens. Its incredible how soft the light is on them, given that I used a sledgehammer of light to expose Derrick & Kelli 🙂 Enjoy these awesome engagement photos, and keep an eye out for their wedding photos next year!

Memory Lane Wedding Photography : Rosemary & Wes

Rosemary & Wes got married at Memory Lane Event Center on September 27, 2014. Memory Lane is definitely one of my favorite spots in Austin. I had been looking forward to this wedding for quite some time now. Rosemary & Wes are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I had a chance to shoot their engagements and Rosemary’s bridals prior to the wedding, so I got to know them over the course of the last year. Their wedding day was wonderful! There was a threat of rain all day, but the sun showed its face at the right time, and we were able to have the ceremony outdoors. That was something Rosemary had been looking forward to, and I am very happy that the day worked out perfectly. Not only were the ceremony photos great, but the portraits turned out fantastic! The lighting was awesome all day, and I took full advantage of it. The first shot in the series is definitely my favorite. I love how the train of her dress is lit up! The photo has some movement, which looks really nice! I thought that it was the prefect shot to start the post with.

If you can’t tell from the photos, Rosemary is super comfortable in front of the camera. In fact, I think she loves being in front of it, which is rare. Every time I turned around she was doing something photo-worthy. This collection has so much laughter and love, that I caught myself smiling throughout the entire editing process.

Lost Mission Wedding Photography : Keely & Todd

Keely and Todd got married at the beautiful Lost Mission wedding venue in Spring Branch, TX on September 19, 2014. I love shooting at Lost Mission for a variety of reasons. Not only is it a magnificent venue, but every time I shoot out there, I end up with something great. This wedding was no exception. The day started with some rain. It actually rained the entire 90 minute journey from Austin, and I was mentally preparing for the day, and how I would shoot in the rain. We had the first look, bridal party & family photos planned, so the rain would have made things quite difficult given the schedule we had mapped out. Believe it or not, we really lucked out with he weather that afternoon. After my arrival, the skies cleared up, and the sun showed its face. Aside from being a bit on the humid size, the weather was remarkable!

Prior to Keely & Todd’s wedding, we had Keely’s bridal portraits scheduled here in Austin. The week of her bridals, Keely’s family got some news that her father may have to receive heart surgery. They did not know if he were to have a stent placed in his artery or if they were to perform open heart. It tuned out that he did in fact receive open heart surgery. Not only did Mr.Klein attend the wedding, but he walked her down the aisle and took part in the evenings festivities. That is amazing! My lovely wife, Kim captured some awesome photos of Keely and her dad right before the ceremony, outside of the chapel. I love that we were able to preserve those moments for Keely, Todd and their families. This is what our job is all about.

I have got to give it up to Todd’s best man, Scott for delivering one of the most amazing speeches that I have heard to date. This might be a little difficult to explain, but let me give it a shot. He had Todd’s friends dress up in costume, representing Todd during different stages of his life. The first to come out was Jake. Jake was holding up childhood photo enlargements of Todd, side by side Kevin (from Home Alone) and Ralphie (from A Christmas Story). Take a look at the similarities. It is too good to be true. Next up was McCall aka “The Abercrombie Gangster”, Dave aka “Track Todd”, Neil aka “Crossfit Todd”, Tom aka “Danny Tanner”, and Austin aka “Future Todd”. The photos say it all.

This wedding was one of a kind, and I am very happy to share the photos with you. Congrats to Keely & Todd!
