Jessica and Josh had their Lost Mission Wedding on April 6, 2018. Each and every time I shot out here, I come away with some really wonderful shots. This time was a little different though. I have been working very hard to step up my shooting & editing game to create a consistent style throughout. I have been shooting all of my weddings with basically two fixed lenses (58mm + 85mm) rather than my usual 24-200mm zoom combo. I feel by eliminating the bulky glass and simplifying my gear, I have been able to be present in the moment, rather than shooting from a long distance. Not only does this change affect the interaction with my clients, but it really makes me work for the shot. The quality is superior as is the relief from the loss of weight in gear.
This wedding was top notch across the board. The detail, the couple, the time of year. This one had it all. I arrived about two hours prior to the wedding for some getting ready shots as well as Jessica & Josh’s first look. Josh’s reaction to seeing Jessica for the first time was marvelous. I will forever remember the look on his face. We took all family & wedding party shots before the ceremony kicked off as well. This cleared up some time for Jessica & Josh to be able to enjoy their friends and family members for a little longer. The first shot in the series is a naturally lit photo taken from the side of the chapel. The lighting was soft and moody, and I took advantage of it completely. After we wrapped up the wedding day portraits it was reception time. There were so many fun moments that it was really hard narrowing down the shots for this collection. One of my favorites is the garter grab, so make sure and check it out below! I really enjoyed being a part of this wedding, and I am super excited to share the photos with you all. Many congrats to Jessica & Josh!
