Taylor & Chris got married at Natures Point on December 6, 2014 just outside of Austin. I loved everything about this wedding! I did not get a chance to meet Taylor & Chris until their wedding day, but upon arrival they treated me like family. They are so nice, and are very easy to talk to. I arrived about 2 hours before the wedding to introduce myself and to get right to work. As mentioned during the maid on honor’s speech, Taylor has this amazing ability to make people feel like they are the most important person in the room. She is so welcoming and genuine, that she made me feel great, right away. I got a few getting ready photos to start the day, and then we had the “first look” for her bridesmaids and then for her father and brothers. I love photographing moments like these! They are irreplaceable snap shots that are so important to those who are a part of them. I edited these photos in black and white to eliminate any distractions, and to focus on the the emotion in the images. I love how they turned out. The ceremony was gorgeous to say the least, and the lighting was perfect! After the wedding, I took Taylor & Chris’s portraits right away. The sun was setting, and we were right in the middle of the golden hour. The naturally lit photos turned out fantastic! It’s easy when you have a photogenic couple like this one:) The first photo in the series is a two- image flash composite. The sun was long gone, but the ambient light was so colorful, that we had to take a advantage, with some signature light 🙂 Into the reception is when I got some of my favorite images from the day. The first dance shots are one of a kind! The smoke seen in the photos were not visible to the naked eye. I discovered the smoke when I back lit Taylor & Chris with a flash on full power. The smoke was coming from a tiki torch off the side of the dance floor. The lighting is so dramatic, that I had to feature several of them below. Take a look towards the end of the post to see them. Krystal with Nature’s Point did a fantastic job coordinating the event. It ran smoothly, and everything turned out the way it should have.
