Catherine and Justin are some of the nicest people that I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. The came by my home in South Austin and I drove them to our first location, The State Capitol. We began on the far west side of the perimeter gates, and got some lovely long shots of them against the iron fence. I shot the whole session using natural lighting . I loved the outfits that Catherine and Justin chose for their session, so I thought that it would be appropriate to keep the images bright and vibrant. For the first location, I shot the images at 200 mm. This gave the photos a very nice depth that people in the industry refer to as “eye candy” 🙂 . The depth is created by glass compression, and gives the images a very attractive look. The second spot we went to was the Federal Courthouse located downtown. This location is wonderful! It is where Kim and I had our engagement photos taken, so it has a special place in my heart. It is clean, simple, and perfect for a session like this one. I love the complimentary colors of their outfits and the concrete surroundings. The colors match up so well, it was almost like they were meant to be side by side! The very last location that we went to was the Lamar Pedestrian bridge, located next to the Austin Power plant. This is one of my favorite and most frequented locations in the city. It has a wonderful view of the downtown skyline, and is just right around sunset time. The first image in the series was taken on the bridge.
